Refocusing on the characteristics of water as an extinguishing agent, we developed the revolutionary fire suppression system “MICRO FOG” which uses microparticulated water to maximize the ability to extinguish fire. Because water is environmentally friendly and safe to humans, the system has been installed in a large-scale steel plant.

Today’s plants and manufacturing facilities are highly aggregated. Improved production efficiency contributes to high profitability. However, on the flip side, if a fire breaks out and production lines are stopped, the company suffers more serious damage. Aside from the effectiveness of its extinguishing ability, the biggest benefit of installing MICRO FOG is that, since water is safe to humans, it can be applied during the early stages of a fire as soon as it occurs in order to prevent further damage. In this example, MICRO FOG has been installed in the underground facility of a steel plant, known as an oil cellar, where lubricating oil is circulated and stored. Because the cellar stores large amounts of flammable lubricant, if a fire were to break out, the scale of the fire would be massive and the damage to the plant would be enormous. In addition, evacuating workers would not be easy. However, in the past there had not been any ultimate fire suppression equipment. Now, MICRO FOG fire suppression equipment offers the best solution: MICRO FOG is great with oil fires and extremely efficient in extinguishing fires. Yamato Protec has simulated real-scale fires and performed extinguishing experiments at its central research center on several dozen occasions. This demonstration of the system performance is a decisive factor in the installation.
